Don Ousterout head coach for men's soccer program

Interim Director of Athletics, Colleen Cashman, is pleased to announce the hiring of Don Ousterout to lead the men’s soccer program for the Hornets as the head coach.

After an 8-year hiatus, Don Ousterout has returned to lead the men’s soccer program at SUNY Broome as the head coach. He is a former Hornet, playing for Broome in 1998 and 1999. After playing at Broome, he continued his college playing career in Buffalo and obtained a dual bachelor’s degree in education from Buffalo State College in 2003.

Don first joined the Hornet’s coaching staff for the fall 2004 season as the associate coach. Don continued supporting the team in this capacity for the next 8 seasons under two different head coaches and learned various styles, techniques, and approaches to coaching at the collegiate level. During this time, he earned a coaching license while attending several different National and Regional Coaching conventions. At the start of the fall 2012 season, Don took over as the leader and head coach of the men’s program. Over the next two years, the men’s team saw a Region III quarter-final appearance and a Final Four appearance, scoring 70+ goals and having a record of 22-14 (.611). While coaching at SUNY Broome, Don has coached several club teams along with the Section IV All-Star team which travels to Europe annually to compete.
