The men's basketball team lost their final home game of the 2021-22 season to MSAC opponent Jefferson CC

The men’s basketball team lost their final home game of the 2021-22 season to MSAC opponent Jefferson CC on Tuesday night, 78-65.

After holding an early lead, Broome gave up a late first half run that led to the Cannoneers taking a 2 point lead into halftime, 38-36. The Hornets kept it close for a while but Jefferson eventually pulled away in the second half for the road win.

Broome had balanced scoring with 8 players scoring between 6 to 11 points. K-Cie Salmon had 11, Seth Roselle, Jr scored 9 and dished out 6 assists, Cameron Irving-Miller also had 9 with 4 assists and Matthew Paige had 9 as well. Jalin Pitts grabbed 17 boards and blocked 3 shots to go with 7 points, and Frank Richards scored 8 points with 2 steals. Garrett Bieber and Andrew Charles both scored 6 points each.

Broome will travel to Syracuse next Tuesday for a non-league matchup against SUNY ESF in the Carrier Dome, scheduled for a 6:00 pm tipoff. Admission will be free and spectators must show proof of vaccination or a recent negative COVID test result.
