The 2023 Hornets Challenge returned this year hosted by the Criminal Justice & Emergency Services Department, the Physical Education & Sport Studies Department, Student Activities, and the Broome County Sheriff’s Law Enforcement Academy.
Participants from various departments at SUNY Broome and the local law enforcement recruits challenged themselves physically and mentally by running up a couple of large hills, working together through an obstacle course, and completing part of a Murphy Challenge including sit-ups, push-ups, and squats. This event served to help the students enhance their endurance and strength in preparation for future physical ability tests and careers in the Criminal Justice and Emergency Services field. Faculty and staff from across campus opted to join in on the fun and participated alongside the students and recruits. This was an excellent event promoting positive relationships between our SUNY Broome Community and the local law enforcement recruits.
