Softball doubleheader on Tuesday against Hudson Valley CC
The softball team dropped both games of their doubleheader on Tuesday against Hudson Valley CC, falling in the opener 10-2 and again in the nightcap 16-2. Both games ended after five innings.

Broome struggled in game one to get anybody across the plate until the top of the fifth when Leah Carlini and Keira Warwick drove in a run each. Four Hornets picked up hits in the game, Brianna Ramstine, Carlini and Lauren Simmons had one hit apiece while Warwick had two hits. Jenna Gaisford went 2 1/3 innings and took the loss for the visitors while Alana Espinoza came in to finish the game.

Game two belonged to the Vikings, allowing the Hornets one hit when Carlini plated Ramstine in the first inning. Gaisford got the nod again in game two and went 3 innings and Warwick finished the last two frames.

The Hornets look to rebound from their first two doubleheaders with their first home contest this Thursday against Herkimer College at the Bearcat Softball Complex scheduled for 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm starts.
