Ami Wiswell, P-TECH Counselor for Broome-Tioga BOCES

We are pleased to welcome Ami Wiswell back to the Southern-Tier P-TECH Program in partnership with Broome-Tioga BOCES & SUNY Broome.  In an effort to provide additional support to the P-TECH students enrolled in college courses at SUNY Broome, Miss Wiswell is located on campus full-time and is located in AT 206.

The Pathways in Technology Early College High School, also referred to as P-TECH, is a NYS program, created to educate students in high demand career fields in each region of the state. Participants in the program start taking college courses through the Fast Forward Program starting in 9th grade and continue through completion of their AAS degree in Health Studies, Computer Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology or Civil Engineering Technology.  While in their senior year of high school, students are enrolled in courses on SUNY Broome’s campus.

Miss Wiswell’s main goal is to assist and guide our P-TECH students towards being successful, while simultaneously helping them to become independent.  By connecting them to the many resources here on campus, and providing extra support as needed, the hope is that they will acclimate to college and graduate from SUNY Broome to obtain a career in their field of study.

If you have questions about the P-TECH Program, please contact Ami Wiswell, P-TECH Counselor at awiswell@btboces.org and Andrea Roma, Chair of Outreach at romaal@sunybroome.edu.
