Dear SUNY Broome Community,
Hard to believe that my 11th year with you is ending. I hope winter break provided you an opportunity for some rest and also some fun time with your family and friends, albeit probably in much smaller numbers than usual. What a fall and January it has been…! Who thought it could get that much worse either in Washington or for COVID. Wow!!!
As for more normal business (if not the venue), I hope you are looking forward to our Spring Faculty/Staff Assembly on Zoom, Thursday the 21st. We have few occasions to gather with nearly our entire academic community, so it’s an important occasion when we do.
This bi-annual tradition will also give me an opportunity to personally thank you for providing the excellent education for which SUNY Broome is so widely known. 2021 will be another extraordinary year for us to keep it up, but hopefully bringing some relief in the fall as vaccine density increases until then and beyond.
The day will begin at 8:30 a.m. with our traditional retrospective video, followed by an abbreviated schedule of speakers which will be widely shared shortly. The Zoom link will be distributed to the campus via campus-wide email, but you can also find the link in the attached document.
Again, I look forward to seeing you on January 21st and best wishes in advance for a successful (but certainly wild once again) Spring 2021 Semester.
