SUNY Broome women's basketball team fell to Jefferson CC in a MSAC contest.

The women’s basketball team fell at home Wednesday evening, 57-46, to Jefferson CC in a MSAC contest.

The first quarter was the difference in the game, the Hornets allowed 22 points while scoring only 12. The second and third quarter belonged to the Hornets as they outscored the Cannoneers 30-23. Broome struggled offensively in the last frame, managing only a bucket from Abby Lyon and one from Ghia Medovich.

Sophia Dutra was the lone Hornet in double figures with 10 points to go with her 6 boards and 2 blocks. Michelle Mercado, Ava Eichler and Medovich all had 8 points in the game and Megan Carden and Abby Lyon chipped in with 5 points apiece. Mercado had a team-leading 7 assists, Eichler added 8 rebounds to her totals, Medovich grabbed 7 boards and Melissa Carden led the home team with 9 rebounds.

Broome will travel north this weekend for a game against Word of Life/Davis College on Saturday and North Country CC on Sunday.
