Cold shooting and a scrappy Adirondack defense proved to be a costly combination on Saturday afternoon as the Hornets fell to the Timberwolves 66-42 in a Region III contest.
Kailyn Sroka opened up the scoring for SUNY Adirondack with a 3-pointer from the corner, Caroline Leniewski followed with another three from the opposite corner before Sroka hit two more three balls and Leniewski added another. The Timberwolves remained hot throughout the game while the Hornets struggled on the offensive end of the floor.
Ava Eichler and Gwendolyn Payne led Broome in scoring with 15 points apiece, Eichler also added 4 boards and 5 steals to her lines. Brooke Ladd had a big game, posting her second straight double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds, and added 7 steals and 6 blocks to her totals.
The Hornets will end the semester with their first MSAC game of the season against Onondaga CC at 6:00 pm in the Baldwin Gym on Wednesday night.
