The men’s basketball team ended their three game losing skid on Saturday afternoon by defeating SUNY Adirondack 82-61 in Queensbury.

After a bit of a slow start to the game, the Hornets were able to settle into a nice lead by halftime, going into the break with a 45-22 lead. The Timberwolves opened up the second half with a run that got them within 15, but Broome was able to hold them off.

It was an all around effort from the Hornets, who had nine different players score in the game, with four hitting double digits. Daquan Campbell finished with 18 points on 9-16 shooting. Andrew Charles scored a season high 16 and also contributed 9 rebounds and 4 steals. Frank Richards put in 16 points as well with three 3-pointers and a 7-8 showing from the free throw line, he also added 6 rebounds and 3 steals to his stat line. Jalin Pitts returned to his double-double form, scoring 10 points and grabbing 14 boards to go with his 4 blocks. Eginhard Jean-Phillipe led the team with 6 assists, to go with his 6 points and 3 steals.

Broome returns home on Wednesday to face MSAC opponent Onondaga CC, the 2nd ranked team in Region II. Game time is scheduled for 8:00 pm.
