Learning and Unlearning: Creativity, Cognition and Critical Thinking

March 10, 2022 @ 11:00 am

Series of Lectures, Interactive Events and Discussions Spring 2022

Trending now in education is the concept of “unlearning:” the notion that cognitive growth is the result not only of knowledge gained but knowledge intentionally shed. What aspects of ourselves are things we’d like to lose? Is it possible to “undo” knowledge or to reframe our lived experiences?

Drawing on philosophy of mind, cognitive science, positive psychology, and other fields, this presentation seeks to understand the nature of “unlearning” and proposes a new perspective: that cognitive and personal growth isn’t so much about “learning and unlearning” as much as about performing (and creating) a new self!

Join us for an illuminating discussion of how we can create and transform ourselves–both today and over the course of a lifetime!
