The Discovery Center of the Southern Tier is a hands-on children’s museum located in the Ross Park campus on Binghamton’s South Side. They are looking for student volunteers!
The center has four days of events scheduled over the winter break, from Dec. 26 through 29, with a “Time Traveler” theme. They’re looking for six volunteers for each day to help children with crafts. There will be two shifts, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 1 to 4 p.m.
The first day’s theme is “Ancient Rome,” followed by “Medieval Times” on day 2, “The American Colonies” on day 3, and “Star Wars – The Future World” on day 4. Volunteers can chose to work one shift or all day; one day, or all four. This is always a fun time for both the kids and our volunteers.
