The volleyball team will travel to Niagara Falls on Saturday to play in the Region III Volleyball Championship Tournament.

Broome finished the regular season with an 11-8 record and advanced to the 2023 MSAC Volleyball Conference Championship match before falling 3-0 to Finger Lakes CC. Going 1-1 in the tournament and finishing as the runner-up, the Hornets will take a 12-9 overall record into the Region III tournament on Saturday hosted by Niagara County CC.

Broome was one of eight teams to be invited to the tournament, drawing the 6th seed overall. The tournament will see the eight teams divided into two “districts” of four teams. Two semifinal matches will take place in each district and then a final match for each district. Broome has been placed in the B District with #2 seed Finger Lakes CC, #3 seed Erie CC, and #7 seed Hudson Valley CC.

The Hornets will face the 3rd seeded Erie CC in their semifinal matchup at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the other District B semifinal will feature #2 Finger Lakes vs #7 Hudson Valley. If Broome wins their first match, they will advance to the District B final at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Previewing the potential matchups for the Hornets, Broome is 1-0 against Erie this season, 0-1 against Hudson Valley, and 0-3 against Finger Lakes.

Good luck to the Hornets this weekend!
