Carl Fischer will be performing as guest trumpet soloist with the SUNY Broome Jazz Ensemble at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, in the Angelo Zuccolo Little Theatre. Tickets for the concert are $5.
Before the concert, from 6 to 7 p.m., Mr. Fisher will be conducting a trumpet clinic/rehearsal with the Broome band onstage in the theater, and all are welcome to attend.
Mr. Fischer has been a standing member of pop music legend Billy Joel’s band for 12 years and counting. He has also performed with Diana Ross, Blood Sweat & Tears, Paul McCartney, Paul Simon, Stephen Tyler, Axl Rose, Maynard Ferguson, Wynton Marsalis, Aretha Franklin, Gavin Degraw, Jamie Cullum, Randy Brecker, Elton John, Bruce Springsteen, Chick Corea, Diane Schuur, Mariah Carey, Randy Jackson, Shakira, Dave Matthews, Sting, Mary Wilson, Charlie Daniels, and Blue Man Group; and has been invited to play for President Obama, the Kings of Thailand and Bahrain, and also the Prince of Morocco.
Throughout Fischer’s career, Carl has been fortunate to work with major instrument companies and, after years of research and development, is elated to be collaborating with Warburton Music Products. Terry Warburton and Carl have collaborated to create the highly popular “CF Horn” trumpet. Fischer also has a 16+ year relationship with Gary Radtke (GR Mouthpieces) who, with Carl, developed his “Carl Fischer Signature Series” line of mouthpieces.
