The newest BROOME Alumni magazine has arrived! Spring 2024 Cover and internal photos.

The new BROOME is hot off the press!

In this edition, we are celebrating the life-saving careers of three of our healthcare alumni: Amber Hontz (EMT), Michelle Hroncich (RN ’00, EMT ’03), and Dr. James Distin (LAAA ’08). Each of these admirable healthcare professionals are called upon — in hospital rooms, helicopters, or middle school hallways — to combine their education, skills, and honed experience in triage to care for lives in our community.

Also, check out alumni profiles on chemistry professor Dr. Harold Trimm (CH ’02), B.C. Center Director Nichole McMillen (EC ’10), three generations of the Stewart family finding their paths at the College, and Stephanie Daub Kuzio (CT ’83), who began at SUNY Broome as a single mom and one of the few women in the civil engineering program and has found great success in her career field.

Plus, the stories of three of our current Hornets: SUNY Broome Student Affairs Vice President Hiba Khan, who tells the story of her life in Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and choosing a computer science major at SUNY Broome; Paralegal major Bradley Mogenson, who grew up studying in hospital rooms and learned to advocate for himself; Carly Weigold,  who returned for a valuable Radiologic Technology associate degree when she decided to switch gears after her bachelor’s degree.
