Dear Campus Community,
The Office of Public Safety will periodically be conducting shelter in place drills on campus starting this spring. During these drills, faculty, staff, and students are expected to follow the shelter in place procedures. The purpose for participating in a drill is to simulate the circumstances of an actual emergency. Please prepare by reviewing procedures for a shelter in place emergency.
Key information to remember:
- Be prepared by reviewing Shelter in Place Procedures.
- All drills will be announced in advance.
- Communication related to drills will clearly identify that the situation is only a drill by using words like ‘test’ or ‘drill’ in messages sent to the campus.
- Drills will be conducted in specific locations. Buildings will be identified in advance and communication identifying the specific location of the drill will be communicated.
