Best of District Winner emblemThe SUNY Broome Foundation’s Very Inspiring Person (VIP) Employee Appreciation Campaign has won a 2023 Best of District II Award in the category of Targeted Constituency Engagement from the Council for Advancement & Support of Education (CASE). This award is quite prestigious as District II is the largest in CASE, covering Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands, West Virginia, and Ontario, Canada.

This award is in addition to three other awards for design, marketing, or campaigns earned by the Foundation and the Office of Marketing and Communications and announced in July of 2023. Two were Awards for Excellence honors from SUNY for University Advancement (SUNYCUAD), and one was a Circle of Excellence award from the CASE.

The SUNY Broome Hospitality Program – Hype video promoted the various SUNY Broome hospitality programs during Winter 2022.

The college’s Foundation also received a silver Circle of Excellence award in the Engagement: Targeted Constituency Engagement category for their SUNY Broome Very Inspiring Person (VIP) Employee Appreciation Campaign. The CASE judges commented, “As employees of higher education institutions, we were particularly pleased to see this entry recognizing employees. It has been a hard couple of years, and most institutions have faced staffing challenges. This was a great way to recognize internal stakeholders at a time when we felt was critical.”

In 2022, CASE received over 4,500 entries from 636 institutions in nearly 30 countries. Of those, volunteer judges selected 626 exemplary entries for bronze, silver, gold, or Grand Gold recognition.

SUNYCUAD, an organization for advancement and communications professionals who work in the SUNY system, recognizes excellence in multiple categories – marketing, print and web design, photography and video, writing, fundraising campaigns, and more – with annual awards.

CASE is an association for advancement professionals – such as those in marketing or alumni and development – in the education field. CASE has over 3,600 members, from elementary and high schools to colleges and non-profits. CASE has annual awards for individuals and projects that “showcase outstanding work in advancement services, alumni relations, communications, fundraising, and marketing.”
