SUNY Broome Associate Professor of Psychology and Human Services Jesse Boring has co-authored a research article in collaboration with Dr. Mark Feinberg and other colleagues at the Edna Bennett Pierce Prevention Research Center at Pennsylvania State University and the Clearinghouse for Military Family Readiness. The article was published in the January issue of the academic journal Family Relations.
Dr. Boring’s article details a randomized trial of an online version of the Family Foundations program (eFF) for couples making the transition to parenthood. The randomized controlled trial of 56 military couples making the transition to parenthood indicated that eFF reduced parent depression, increased mothers’ perceived coparenting support, and improved infants’ mood/soothability.
