For the fifth year in a row, over a dozen SUNY Broome employees traveled to Windsor Central High School on Thursday, November 16, 2023 to continue the College’s greatest new enrollment tradition – College Express!

The College Express Partnership was established in 2019 through a collaboration between Windsor Central High School’s Superintent’s Team, Windsor’s School Counseling Department, and SUNY Broome’s Enrollment Management division. The goal was to create a streamlined process that allowed Windsor’s senior class to apply and be accepted to SUNY Broome en masse and on-site at the high school. In addition to hosting the instant acceptance event, the College Express Partnership exclusively offers several additional enrollment events for Windsor students in areas such as financial literacy workshops, college pro-tips seminars, and academic advising and course registration sessions.

Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Penny Kelly, addressed the senior class and explained the magnitude of the College Express program. “It is because of the vision of your school counselors and administrators and the academic successes of your Windsor predecessors, that more than 1,000 students from across our region have followed Windsor’s example and participated in their own College Express experiences.”

Additional speakers throughout the College Express program included:

  • Jason Andrews, EdD – Superintendent, Windsor-CSD Schools
  • Owen Conklin – Director of Admissions
  • Brittney Richardson – Enrollment Management Coordinator
  • Colleen Cashman – Director of Athletics
  • Nick M. Kocieniewski, Ph.D. – Director of Student Activities
  •  Alejandro Chavarria Gonzalez – Windsor Alum, SUNY Broome Engineering Science Student, Student Trustee

Over 80 Windsor Central High School seniors were invited to continue their academic journey at SUNY Broome.
