Professor Zeggert's Eric Carle poster has been selected for the Syracuse Poster Project

Professor Zeggert’s Eric Carle poster has been selected for the Syracuse Poster Project, an annual public art program displayed throughout the city.

Carle used cut paper to construct his illustrations; my goal was to paint a rendition of the cut paper and, conversely, paint Carle’s portrait with a broader, more impasto approach followed by floating glazes over it. This approach allowed me to recognize Carle’s work while creating a visual invitation to the poster.

The concept of the Poster Project represents classic illustration, often defined as content coming together that informs or advances an idea. The Poster Project also represents art at work in the community with intention.
