Greetings campus community. With the weather getting colder, some of you will be breaking out your portable heaters.
It is important for you to know that these devices need to be plugged directly into a wall outlet. Portable electric heaters cannot be plugged into a power strip. They draw a lot of current. Portable electric heaters must also have tip over protection.
Portable, electric heaters shall not be operated within 3 feet of any combustible materials.
*** Portable electric heaters are not allowed in Resident dorms.
