The office of public safety is happy to be participating in this local fundraiser during the holiday season to combat food insecurity.
Bearded Broome is a local fundraising organization inspired by the national entity, “No Shave November.” Participants are encouraged to forgo shaving for the month of November with the goal of this change in appearance creating a talking point to bring awareness to the fundraising cause. After participating in “No Shave November” for several years, and realizing that in addition to the organization being national, all funds raised were distributed nationally as well, our founder was inspired to create a local fundraising group that keeps all funds raised local to benefit our community and hence, Bearded Broome was born. In 2021, 100% of the $21,319 we raised went directly to CHOW.
