Dr. Bill Altman of SUNY Broome’s Psychology & Human Services Department has been nominated for the Wayne Weiten Teaching Excellence Award.

This international award is given by the Society for the Teaching of Psychology (Division 2 of the American Psychological Association) for excellence in teaching at a two-year college. Criteria for the award include evidence of excellence in teaching, service, and the scholarship of teaching and learning.

In his nominating documents, Dr. David Berg of the Community College of Philadelphia noted that “Bill is a living database of teaching methods and materials…. He responds quickly and enthusiastically to inquiries on many teaching topics, sharing ideas, his well-tested personal teaching resources, and references, both classic and current, that demonstrate the best scholarship of teaching and learning. In the span of his 37-year teaching career, Bill has demonstrated exemplary abilities as a teacher-scholar.”
