Dear Faculty,

Your students will again have access to CircleIn this semester! CircleIn is an easy to use web and mobile studying app that’s been backed by a National Science Foundation grant. Students earn points and rewards by helping each other study.

We are pleased to report that SUNY Broome students are using CircleIn and loving it! Over 50 gift cards were earned and awarded in the fall semester. Additionally, we had a student receive a $500 academic scholarship to apply toward their Spring 2022 cost of attendance. Not only are these extrinsic motivators driving student use, students are using the platform to engage with their peers in academically meaningful ways. In fall 2021, SUNY Broome students created over 10,000 unique study actions, including developing flash cards, hosting virtual study sessions, and asking and answering academic questions. Moreover, the kindnesses they are showing to one another, including kind words of appreciation and support, are wonderful to see.

CircleIn is a great tool for students to connect with one another and all that is left to do is let your students know it’s available and ready for their courses. A simple in class or Blackboard announcement is enough to get the conversation started among students!

If you have any questions, need support, or want to request additional information, email their Support Team at support@circleinapp.com.

Thank you! We can’t wait to see the impact that CircleIn will have on Peer to Peer Collaboration and Student Success!
