Jalin Pitts was a presence throughout the night for the Hornets, grabbing 22 rebounds and blocking 4 shots to go along with his 8 points.

Jalin Pitts had a monster night on the glass finishing with a career high 23 rebounds and added 14 points and 2 blocks for another double-double.

The men’s basketball traveled to the Syracuse University on Tuesday night for a non-league matchup against SUNY ESF in the Carrier Dome and lost to the Mighty Oaks, 72-61.

The Hornets got off to a strong start using defense to fuel their offense as well as hitting a high percentage of shots from behind the arc. Kilian Okech and Frank Richards connected on two 3-balls each in the half and Matthew Paige made one. Broome eventually took a 10 point lead into halftime, 34-24.

SUNY ESF turned the tables in the second half, finding their shooting touch on the Jim Boeheim Court. The Mighty Oaks closed the deficit by hitting some 3-balls of their own to build a lead they wouldn’t relinquish.

In his final showing of the season for Broome, Jalin Pitts had a monster night on the glass finishing with a career high 23 rebounds and added 14 points and 2 blocks for another double-double. Also scoring 14 points in the game were Andrew Charles and Richards, who shot 4-6 from the arc. Charles also added 7 rebounds and 3 assists to his totals.

The men finish the 2021-22 season with an overall record of 4-19 and a MSAC record of 2-12.
