A hand using a cell phone
Imagine a world where you can hear the text that you are typing: word by word or each character – you pick. Or by tapping on your screen you can hear the entire screen read to you or just selected text. Now how about an app that lets you walk, bike, or drive to keep you focused on the world around you while you listen to that article your professor wanted you to read.

Your phone has built in functions that will let all of this happen. The built in functions are called text to speech functions. For iOS it’s called spoken content, for Android it’s called Speak. Both are under Accessibility on your phone.

If this is of interest to you, the instructions are attached in pdf form so you can start listening right away. Or stop in and see John Covert L003 or Shellie Robinson L006 (basement of the library) to get help.
