Women Who Lead: Supporting Our Female Students Now and in the Future

How can offices work to close the gap for upcoming females entering the work force? What challenges persist for female students?

Women’s issues continue to impact both career services and employers alike. Attendees will examine several critical challenges female students will unknowingly face: understanding their identity and impact on job attainment, advocating during salary negotiations, perception of career advancement, gaining mentors and sponsors, and having a voice where it matters. Review strategies to increase awareness and advocate for gender equality.

Following this program, you will be able to:

  • Discover strategies to bring awareness of career-women related challenges;
  • Create an open space for female students to discuss career-related challenges; and
  • Construct a strategic plan to support female students’ advancement.
