Location: Angelo Zuccolo Little Theater, located in the Student Center on the SUNY-Broome campus, Upper Front Street, Binghamton.

Young Alice Sycamore (Gemma Barber) has a problem. She dearly loves her sprawling, madcap family, all of whom pursue multiple eccentric hobbies. They write plays and make fireworks, collect snakes and play the glockenspiel, dance and paint and just generally do whatever makes them happy. The whole joyful, chaotic scene takes place under the calm leadership of Martin Vanderhof (Cooper Ely), who walked away from his ordinary, businesslike life more than thirty years earlier to live a life of freedom.

But Alice also loves Tony Kirby, Jr. (Jordan Ramsey), the son of her boss at a Wall Street financial firm. Tony’s parents, (Harper Leyba and Lauren Pittari) are straight-laced and conventional, with a strong sense of propriety. Young Tony brings his parents to meet Alice’s family: her mother (Fedeline Jean-Philippe), her father (Connor Coniglio), her sister Essie and brother-in-law Ed (Tara Pitcher, Ezra Garcia), Mr. DePinna (a sort of live-in sitcom neighbor) (River Pullis), as well as faithful family retainer Rheba (Kirsten Groats) and her boyfriend Donald (Sebastian Quarella). Throw in a Russian ballet instructor (Austin Tompkins) and a drunken actress (Magnolia Beeman), and the stage is set.

Arriving on the wrong night, the Kirbys find the Vanderhof-Sycamores in fine, frenetic form, instead of the carefully choreographed evening Alice had planned for them, with hilarious results. It all comes out right with the help of a Grand Duchess (Olivia Ketzak) and the United States Internal Revenue Service.

This classic clash-of-cultures comedy has been a staple of the American stage for over 80 years, but has lost none of its original celebratory joy. This production is being directed by Dr. Mary Donnelly and Jacob Donlin, with stage management by Eirik Kunz and Frankie Haggerty.

Tickets are available at the door: they are $10 for the general public, and $5 for students, seniors, and the military. SUNY-Broome students are free.
