Improv Jam – Weekly Workshop!

October 10 @ 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm

Improv JAM

This Improv Jam will consist of fun improv games similar to what you witness on Whose Line Is It Anyway and at many of the big city Improv Theaters like Second City, The Groundlings and the Upright Citizen’s Brigade.

You do not need any previous experience to have fun and participate. All skill levels are welcome.

You can also simply relax and enjoy watching the antics as they are created. And I understand there will be free pizza!

Here are some benefits one can receive by participating in SUNY Broome’s Improv Jam:

  1. It’s FUN!
  2. It fosters creativity and innovation. By engaging in improvisational exercises, participants are encouraged to think on their feet, adapt to unexpected situations, and come up with new ideas..
  3. Improved communication skills. Improv helps emphasize attentive listening, effective collaboration, and clear communication. As participants practice these skills in a safe and supportive environment, they become better at expressing their thoughts and ideas, understanding others, and working together.
  4. An improv Jam can help participants build confidence and resilience. Through improvisation, individuals learn to trust their instincts, and embrace failure as a learning opportunity. This cultivates a growth mindset where individuals are more willing to step out of their comfort zones, explore new possibilities, and adapt to change.
  5. An improv Jam can enhance problem-solving skills. Improvisation nurtures quick thinking, creativity, and the ability to find solutions on the spot. By practicing these skills in a fun workshop setting, participants develop a problem-solving mindset that can be applied to various school, work, and life changes and challenges.
  6. It’s FUN
  7. FREE Food
