Connor’s story:

Connor loved life, to help everyone, to smile, to laugh, and to have a great time doing anything and everything. But Connor loved to play ball.

Connor started playing T-ball at 5 years old for JC YMCA, then to play for the city of Binghamton League for the Eastside and Southside Youth Association from 9-17 years old. Connor played modified JL and Varsity softball for Seton Catholic Central High School.

Connor graduated from Seton in 2017 and was a member of the national honor society. Connor worked for the Mets Rumble Ponies for the last four seasons. She was often found smiling as she worked at the BBQ pit.

Connor was the top pick to enter the SUNY Broome nursing program right out of high school out of over 1000 students who applied to the program. Connor was a member of the National Honor Society in college. She graduated from SUNY Broome with her associate degree in nursing on May 23, 2019. Connor also was accepted into SUNY Delhi online for her bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Connor accepted a job offer at Wilson Hospital in the operating room as a nurse starting in July 2019. Just three weeks after graduating nursing school, Connor died unexpectedly on June 12, 2019, from bilateral pulmonary embolism. Connor was 20 years old. Connor continued to help people by donating her organs and tissue. This tournament is to keep Connor’s legacy alive but also to have as much fun and to laugh as Connor would.

All proceeds from this tournament will go into the Connor Murray RN Nursing Memorial Scholarship that I have already established through the SUNY Broome Foundation.

This tournament will be a yearly tournament to celebrate Connor.

Thank you,
Jen Hall, Connor’s mom
