SUNY Broome Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month! Shaping the future together - Pioneers of Change

SUNY Broome invites you to attend the Grand Opening of our Hispanic Heritage Month exhibit, Pioneers of Change: Shaping the Future together.

Date: Tuesday, September 24, 2024
Time: 4 p.m. – 6 p.m.
Location: Library Gallery, room 104, on the main floor of the library.

Dr. Hawkins will welcome all at 4:30 p.m. in the Library Gallery room 104.

Enjoy the collaborative efforts of Myriam Stanton’s Spanish language students and Hall Groat, art professor, highlighting the influence of famous Latinos / Latinas on US culture. Enjoy also the collaborative efforts of SUNY Broome Anthropology and Effective Speaking students and their partners at the Universidad de Celaya. Enjoy contributions from several personal collections as well.

From 4:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m., we will be connected in person and via Zoom with Hispanic / Latino/a/x students, alumni, partners and staff, some in the US, some in Latin America, who will talk about what being Hispanic / Latino/a/x means to them and about what being affiliated with SUNY Broome means to them.

Finally, come ready to test and to vote on your favorite salsa and/or hot sauce. We’ll provide water too 😉
