AUDITIONS: Arsenic and Old Lace

Matriarchs! Mayhem! Murder!
Come join the A to Z Players for our production of Joseph Kesserling’s classic dark comedy, Arsenic and Old Lace!
The elderly Brewster sisters live comfortably with their nephew Teddy, performing works of charity to everyone in their Brooklyn neighborhood. Another nephew, Mortimer Brewster, is a theater critic who checks in on them regularly, partly because he is in love with the girl next door, the minister’s daughter Elaine Harper. The aunts have an unusual hobby: murdering lonely old men, which they consider an act of pure charity. Mortimer discovers their secret, and is tries to figure out how to help them. His task is complicated when Jonathan–his brother and Teddy’s–turns up with a mad medical doctor in tow. The resulting confusion leads to an absolutely hilarious set of effects.
Arsenic and Old Lace has been called “delightful and wickedly funny.” Please come out and help us bring this gem to life!
