Solar Eclipse Viewing Party

A Solar Eclipse Viewing Party will take place:

Date: Monday, April 8, 2024
Time:  2 p.m. – 5 p.m.
Location: SUNY Broome Quad.
Description: This event will include picnic-style food, outdoor activities and games, and free eclipse viewing glasses for the first 500 guests.

We encourage you to take advantage of this free, fun opportunity to commemorate this astronomical phenomenon!

Please follow the Solar Eclipse Safety Guidelines (pdf)

• NEVER look directly at the sun — this can cause permanent damage!
• Sunglasses do NOT protect your eyes from a solar eclipse.
• Wear ISO 12312-2 Certified Eclipse Glasses from a trusted source.
• Create a pinhold viewer to project the eclipse onto a piece of cardboard.
