Has the pandemic got you “Bogged Down?” You can still visit one — virtually!
On Feb. 4 at 7:00 pm, join Dr. Rick Firenze, retired SUNY Distinguished Teaching Professor, and filmmaker Nick Venuti (LACM ‘17) in viewing and discussing a filmed compilation of five fascinating SUNY Broome Biology Department field trips.
For members of the biology department, field trips are an integral component of several of the courses they offer. Perhaps, if you are an alumnus, you recall going on one. The biology faculty-members were not going to let the pandemic stop their students from these wonderful and unique educational experiences. So with generous support from the BCC Foundation, they hired filmmaker Nick Venuti to record five field trips to venues ranging from a glacial bog to our local landfill.
The presentation will be followed by a Q&A with Nick and Dr. Firenze. This free event is open to alumni, college faculty and employees, students and non-alumni guests. However, pre-registration is required.
