
Lea Ackley (far right) tallied 45 assists across two matches as the women’s volleyball team split in two matches against Region 3 opponents on September 27.
The women’s volleyball team lost to Erie but beat SUNY Niagara during a Region 3 POD hosted by the Thunderwolves on September 27.
The first match of the day pitted the Hornets against Erie CC. SUNY Broome was defeated 3-0 by set scores of 25-17, 25-20, and 25-19.
Nevaeh Masso compiled a great hitting percentage of .378, logging 19 kills in the match, which led both teams. She also had 10 digs.
Amariah Argro was second in kills with five. Lea Ackley picked up a match-high 21 assists and Katie Christian had a match-high 22 digs.
In the second match of the day, SUNY Broome defeated the host SUNY Niagara Thunderwolves 3-0 by set scores of 25-20, 25-22, and 25-23.
Masso had another strong offensive performance in this match, tallying 21 kills in 35 total attempts for an excellent hitting percentage of .571. She added 13 digs. Argro was again second in kills, with eight.
Ackley had another 20+ assist performance with 24. Christian pitched in nine digs in the win.
