The women’s basketball team visited SUNY Adirondack on Saturday and brought home a convincing 69-22 win.

The Hornets arrived at the win by leading from start to finish, including a dominant 19-1 first quarter. The Hornets followed that up with an 18-7 second quarter to take a 37-8 lead into the break. Three of the four quarters saw a single digit output from the Timberwolves and a double-digit output from the Hornets, as SUNY Broome ended the game with a 17-3 fourth quarter.

A total team effort from the Hornets saw five players contribute at least seven points. Three players scored in double figures, and all three logged collegiate career highs. Sophia Ashman led the scoring with 22 points, Zephora Brouillette followed with 16 points, and Jayla Marke added 10.

Ashman also had five rebounds, five steals, and four assists. Brouillette grabbed her first double-double of the season with 12 rebounds, also collecting four steals, three assists, and two blocks. Lillian Monroe filled the stat sheet with eight points, nine rebounds, and three assists. Kendall Farthing and Marke combined for 17 points off the Hornets’ bench in the win.

Next up, SUNY Broome is currently scheduled for a home bout with Hudson Valley on November 24 at 1 p.m.
