This March, the SUNY Women’s Empowerment Draft honors 32 women icons through a colorful football-inspired draft ceremony. In addition to honoring many historic trailblazers, the 2021 draft also focuses on “Living Legends” and regional connections to New York State – like Tarana Burke – an American activist from The Bronx, NY, who started the Me Too movement.

Check out the newly released video above of the draft and cheer on SUNY Broome’s student spokesperson, Nisha Cuddihe, as she gives a shout out to Tarana Burke and sports a Tarana tribute jersey in SUNY Broome’s gold and black colors.
