The volleyball team will participate in the 2023 Mid-State Athletic Conference Championship Tournament on Saturday.
Broome was selected to appear in the postseason tournament hosted by Finger Lakes CC. The Hornets will play at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday in the semifinal match, with an opportunity to advance to the championship final with a win. Broome draws the #3 seed in the tournament, and will have a semifinal matchup with the #2 seed Jefferson CC. The other semifinal match features the #1 seed and host, Finger Lakes, taking on the #4 seed Genesee CC.
Previewing and assessing the potential matchups for Broome, the Hornets are 1-1 against Jefferson this season. They lost a 3-1 decision in September, but are coming off a thrilling 3-2 win over the Cannoneers in their most recent match. If Broome advances to the championship match, a 2-0 record against Genesee this season bodes well for their chances against the Cougars. Broome is 0-2 against Finger Lakes this season, however the Lakers have only lost one match on the year, which was in five sets to undefeated Fulton-Montgomery CC.
For spectators interested in watching the match in person, Broome will play on court one of the facility at Finger Lakes. For those not in attendance, the match will be streamed and available to watch by anyone.
