Broome hosted Finger Lakes CC, Monroe CC and Genesee CC on Sunday and lost the opening match 3-0 to Finger Lakes but rebounded to win the next two by identical scores of 3-1.
In the first match Broome faced top ranked Finger Lakes and lost in three tightly contested sets 24-26, 18-25 and 22-25. Megan Carden and Gabriella Bishop led the offense with 10 kills apiece. Brianna Rossi led the team in digs with 16 and Anna Tiberia had 25 assists. Melissa Carden had 3 assisted blocks and Casie Kephart had a team high 4 aces.
In match two Broome faced Monroe and won in four sets 25-17, 25-21, 21-25, 25-15. Melissa Carden had 18 kills for the offense and Megan Carden had a team high 22 digs for the defense. Tiberia finished with 45 assists, Melissa Carden recorded 1 solo block and 3 assisted blocks while Megan Carden had a team high 7 aces in the match.
The final match of the day saw Broome go up against Genesee, and again won the match in four sets 25-19, 22-25, 25-15, 25-22. Melissa Carden had a career high 20 kills and hit .450. Rossi and Megan Carden led the defense with 21 digs apiece and Melissa Carden had 2 solo blocks and 2 assisted blocks. Tiberia finished with 38 assists and led the team with 3 aces along with Kephart, also with 3 aces.
