The women’s volleyball team traveled to Troy on Saturday for a POD hosted by Hudson Valley CC and fell to SUNY Adirondack, 3-2, before falling to Hudson Valley CC by a score of 3-0.

In the first match against the Timberwolves the Hornets pushed the contest to five sets and lost by set scores of 25-23, 21-25, 23-25, 25-23 and 13-15. Gabriella Bishop led the team with 17 kills, Katarina Frommert followed with 12 kills, and Jaylen Bennett and Casie Kephart had 9 and 7 kills respectively. Anna Tiberia posted a season high 44 assists in the match. Frommert had a team high 3 aces and Bennett led the team in digs with 31 in addition to adding 2 solo blocks and 1 assisted block to her totals.

In the second match against the Vikings the Hornets fell in straight sets with scores of 9-25, 15-25 and 21-25. Bennet led the team kills (6), aces (2), digs (15) and solo blocks (1). Tiberia again led the team in assists with 16.

Broome falls to 7-6 on the season while Adirondack improves to 8-5 and Hudson Valley improves to 6-8.

The Hornets return to the confines of the West Gymnasium for a POD this Saturday against Erie CC, with a 1:00 pm start, followed by a 3:00 pm match against Niagara County CC.
