“The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members” ~ Coretta Scott King
As we wrap up another semester, this Thank You goes out to the entire SUNY Broome community.
This semester brought some fun “drives” that helped stock the Hornet Hope Center. With an average of 100 visits a day, these efforts are greatly appreciated!
Some notable highlights:
- SUNY Broome’s Physical Therapy Assistant Program, spearheaded a campaign with the local Physical Therapy community to gather donations that totaled 819.8 lbs. of food, hygiene products, household items, and clothing
- The Ecology Club held a Coat Drive in November bringing in over 46.1 lbs. of warm clothing.
- SUNY Broome’s Business Club collected over 65 lbs. of food, hygiene products and household items.
- The Civic Engagement Committee spearhead the first Hornet Hope Center Challenge on campus that brought in 4,825.6 lbs. of food, hygiene products and household items and over $2,000 in monetary contributions.
- SUNY Broome’s Holiday Reception Food Drive brought in 136.7 lbs. of food.
- Nimmonsburg United Methodist Church hosts a continuous drive totaling 327.5 lbs. of food donated.
And to our everyday donors – students, staff, faculty, alumni and friends – we are grateful for your 4,138.2 lbs. of food, hygiene products, household items and clothing!
Your kindness makes a difference!
