Go green: Clean Energy Open House highlights sustainability

Student demonstrations were just one part of SUNY Broome’s Clean Energy Open House on May 16. Local companies and nonprofits were also on hand, sharing information on how to save money, conserve energy and help the environment. Topics ranged from utility rebates and home energy audits to solar energy, LED lights, electric cars and more.

Challenge accepted: Engineering Science students present at Chancellor’s showcase

Three SUNY Broome Engineering Science students headed to Albany to participate in the Chancellor’s showcase, which took place just prior to her State of the University System address on Jan. 31. Diana Kelly, Brandon Kipp and Nick Hayko explained their ongoing research into phantom or vampire energy – the electrical current used by devices even when they’re not in use.

Ivy League Hornet: Keith returns to his alma mater to tutor and to prepare for his future in pharmacy
