Music student Anastasia Alexopoulos and her voice teacher, Music Coordinator Brenda Dawe, traveled on Oct. 26 to SUNY Fredonia to represent SUNY Broome at the Chapter Division of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) Auditions.
Professor Dawe spent the day judging both classical and musical theater categories while Anastasia competed as a junior, since she is in her fifth semester at SUNY Broome. Anastasia competed against third-year students at Fredonia, Potsdam, Nazareth, Eastman, etc., but still advanced to the semi-final round.
She also ran into a former classmate, Kenny Krempl, who is now studying at SUNY Fredonia; he also advanced in his category. SUNY Broome should be proud of how their voice majors are representing the college, even after they leave us!
