SUNY Broome is pleased to announce that its Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) program has received reaffirmation of full, 10-year accreditation through the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE). 

The continued accreditation of the College’s competitive PTA program follows a comprehensive self-study and review process. This achievement affirms the commitment of our faculty and leadership to academic excellence, and ensures SUNY Broome’s commitment to producing highly qualified physical therapist assistants to serve their communities and the profession.

“In the past few years, the program has made extensive efforts to strengthen its curriculum, enhance assessment processes, invest in faculty development, and further support student learning outcomes,” Dr, Kimberly McLain, Associate Vice President and Dean of Health Sciences & Institutional Effectiveness, said. “This 10-year reaccreditation decision reflects the dedication, resilience, and hard work of our faculty and staff, the outstanding leadership of Department Chairperson and Program Director Julie Martin, and the strong collaborative partnerships we maintain with our clinical affiliates and alumni.”
