On November 13, the SUNY Broome STEM Division hosted its annual STEM Career Expo, providing students with the invaluable opportunity to connect with 13 local employers from a wide range of industries. The expo, which took place in the Applied Technology building, aimed to introduce students to potential career paths in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, as well as strengthen connections between employers and those planning to enter the workforce in our region.

The event was a resounding success, with a large number of students exploring internship, apprenticeship, and full-time employment opportunities, and employers offering insights into the various career paths available to them.

The career expo allows students to meet face-to-face with industry leaders, and gives them the chance to network and gain firsthand knowledge about the skills and qualifications employers are seeking. Students were not disappointed, when this year they had the chance to meet with representatives from Visions Federal Credit Union, BAE Systems, Delta Engineering, TechMed, Chentronics, D&R Technical Solutions, Crown Cork & Seal, George Industries, United Health Services, Advance Testing, Amphenol Aerospace, Chobani, and the New York State Department of Transportation.

The STEM Career Expo is just one example of SUNY Broome’s commitment to supporting student success and workforce development, and dedication to helping students bridge the gap between education and employment.

Thanks to all who worked to make this event a success, and to all who attended.
