Jacob Kumpon (BUBA ’18; ES ’20), SUNY Broome Graduate and COO of KLAW Industries, announced a $500k award from the EPA to scale their process that utilizes waste glass as a core component of concrete.

“We are excited to continue working with the EPA and our partners at Barney & Dickenson, Taylor Garbage, and Albert Torto Construction to bring this funding to our hometown.” – Jacob Kumpon, COO of KLAW Industries.

The win comes after KLAW Industries’ recent partnership with the City of Binghamton for curb and sidewalk upgrades. With the help of the Koffman Incubator, KLAW Industries has raised over $1.18 million to continue growing. The funding will help KLAW Industries expand its manufacturing operations on Griswold Street in Binghamton.
