The SUNY Broome Student Philanthropy Council members and PHS students have been hard at work raising funds for the Student Giving Peer Scholarship this year! With the support of our campus, the council raised $2,027.73 through the Student Giving Campaign. That means they have raised enough funds to provide four $500 scholarships for our students!
It has been a fantastic year of activities, and we want to express our deep gratitude to those who helped us reach this milestone. Thank you to our primary organizers and volunteers who assisted with bake sales, basket raffles, fundraisers at local restaurants, and a bingo event: Jamie Smith, SUNY Broome Foundation Alumni & Development Associate and the advisor of the Student Philanthropy Council, the council members — Ethan Roselle, Cole Strong, Melissa Leon, Jordyn Dutcher, Abigail Lyon, Georgia Novitsky, Isabelle Dithrich, Hareem Siddiqui, Danielle Williams, Emilie Kipp, Elle Yatsuk, Sydney Velez Mattiace, Kamelah Union, Dominique Boyce, Logan Everson, Katiana Dallard, and Audrey Schurter — and student volunteers Anthony Morris, Andrew Buckler, DeLaney Painter, Julia Langton, Kirsten Cherevko, Lauren White, Zoe Gifford, and Delaney Vascoe.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by a bake sale table to buy a donut, donated cookies, ordered a pizza or burger at a restaurant fundraiser, participated in a drawing for a basket or prize, or made a gift to the Student Giving Campaign. Your support has been incredible, and we couldn’t have done it without you!
And congratulations to this year’s Student Giving Peer Scholarship recipients, who will each receive a $500 scholarship for the 2023-2024 academic year:
Student Isabelle Dithrich will present the proceeds in a ceremonial check to Dr. Drumm at the graduation ceremony on Thursday, May 18.
Thank you again, SUNY Broome family, for your faithful generosity! We look forward to another successful year!
