Congratulations to Abigayle Bennett, Brittany Brainard, and Michelle Smetana who received the Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence! These star students are deeply involved in campus life, and have made meaningful contributions both in and out of the classroom.
We’d also like to congratulate Phi Theta Kappa Award winners Mariely Carvajal and Junelle Perry.
Ms. Perry was also selected for the 2020 Coca Cola Academic Team Gold Scholar. Selection as a Coca-Cola Gold Scholar was based on scores the student earned in the All-USA Academic Team competition, for which more than 2,000 applications were received this year. This program is sponsored by the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation and is administered by Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Typically only one community college from each state is chosen for this award, as a sign of just how competitive this prestigious award is. Congratulations again to Junelle.
Recipients of these awards were to be honored in Albany this month, but unfortunately the event isn’t being held this year. Please take a moment to recognize these star students!
