Strategic Planning in Action: Dashboard Insights

SUNY Broome’s Strategic Plan is a multi-year roadmap designed to guide the College’s progress from 2024 through 2027. Building on the previous 2017–2022 plan, this initiative was developed through a collaborative and inclusive process, incorporating stakeholder feedback, key institutional data, and alignment with foundational plans such as the Academic Master Plan and Strategic Enrollment Management. The plan outlines measurable goals and strategies across academic programs, student support, enrollment, equity, and community partnerships.

Strategic Plan KPI Highlights

SUNY Broome’s Strategic Plan Dashboard tracks Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) aligned with the College’s institutional goals. These KPIs help assess progress in areas such as inclusive student support, equitable educational and career outcomes, community partnerships, and organizational sustainability.

The following highlights focus on selected metrics that reflect student success and institutional impact.

  • Retention, and Earned Credit Hours

These categories present longitudinal data on student progress and persistence, focusing on three key metrics: Fall- to-Spring Retention, Fall-to-Fall Retention, and Earned Credit Hours. Users can filter results by full-time or part-time (FT/PT) status to analyze trends across different enrollment types. These indicators help monitor student continuity and academic momentum, supporting institutional efforts to improve retention and completion rates.

  • Microcredentials and Credits for Prior Learning (CPL)

This metric highlights the number of microcredentials awarded and the volume of college credit granted for prior learning. Microcredentials are short-term, skill-based credentials—both credit and non-credit—that help students enhance employability and career mobility. Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) recognizes students’ existing knowledge gained through work, training, or other experiences. These pathways support flexible, accelerated progress toward academic and career goals, while enhancing equity.

Users can explore disaggregated data by applying filters for full- time/part-time status and student type, enabling a deeper understanding of outcome disparities between student groups over time. This dashboard supports SUNY Broome’s commitment to equity and inclusive student success.
