Throughout the spring semester, SUNY Broome Community College is engaging in the exciting work of strategic planning for the institution’s next three years. Strategic planning is a roadmap developed to meet the needs of the College.

Through this process, the Strategic Planning Committee, overseen by Dr. Tony Hawkins, and co-chaired by Mr. James Testani, Board of Trustee member, and Dr. Kim McLain, AVP/Dean of Health Sciences & Institutional Effectiveness, will articulate the College’s goals, and create accompanying strategies to achieve those goals. These goals will be measurable, based in evidence, and achievable within the three years of the strategic plan. The process will begin with a reaffirmation of the College’s 2017-2022 mission, vision, and values.

The feedback gathered during the Presidential Transition Committee open forums from fall 2023 serve as a foundation for the strategic planning process, along with the Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) plan, the Academic Master Plan (AMP), and other key institutional and external data.

The College is committed to our stakeholders’ involvement and will ensure the strategic planning process is participative, deliberate, and inclusive of our campus community. The Strategic Planning Committee will seek input from the campus community on a regular basis, through forums, surveys, and the opportunity to review and provide feedback for drafts throughout the process.

The Strategic Planning website will serve as a resource for events, updates, and opportunities related to the strategic planning process. Please check it often to stay up to date and informed.

The Strategic Planning Committee looks forward to working with the entire College during this important process!
