SUNY Broome Theater announces its spring production of “Short & Sweet: Mini plays on Family, Friends & Love from Welcome to the Moon & Marcus Is Walking.” Performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. April 26 and 27 at the Angelo Zuccolo Little Theatre in the Student Center.

“We are proud to be presenting these short but enchanting pieces of work by John Patrick Shanley and Joan Ackermann,” said Theater director Katherine Bacon.  “Welcome to the Moon is John Patrick Shanley’s celebration of love in all its forms and Joan Ackermann’s Marcus Is Walking explores lighthearted family relationships that happen in an automobile!”

John Patrick Shanley’s film Moonstruck won an Academy Award in 1988 and his play Doubt: A Parable won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the Tony Award for Best Play and was also made into a film starring Meryl Streep and Viola Davis who were nominated for Oscars for the film. Mark your calendars for this wonderful and entertaining evening of dramatic works by these celebrated writers.
